Lebid to lead European select squad at Edinburgh XC

Edinburgh, Scotland - Evergreen Sergey Lebid will captain the Europe Select Team in the Men's International Team Challenge at the Bupa Great Edinburgh Cross Country on 8 January, the fourth meeting of the IAAF Cross Country Permit series 2010/11.

Lebid who has dominated the European Cross Country Championships and has competed in each edition of the continental championships since they were first staged at Alnwick, England in 1994, chalked up a ninth success in Albufeira, Portugal, on Sunday.

The 35-year-old Ukrainian immediately accepted an invitation not only to compete at the Bupa Great Edinburgh Cross Country but also skipper the European side in Holyrood Park.
